Which is correct?
1. The sun shined brightly all day yesterday.
2. The sun shone brightly all day yesterday.
 
I believe #1 is more common in AmE.
 
And in BrE.

Indeed, we would consider 'shined' to be unacceptable.

Mental aberration. I should have said that #1 is unacceptable in BrE.

I've never heard "shined" to the best of my recollection, and I live in North America.

Curious.

HERE are hundreds of examples of 'shined' - mostly from US publications.
