This is not my homework.

I know that this is correct sentence-
She is the taller of the two girls.

But if I write the sentence as follows, will it still be right?

She is the taller girl of the two girls.

It would be understandable but it wouldn't be natural.

1. She is the taller of the two girls.
2. She is the taller girl of the two.

In the second, the word "girls" at the end is implied.
