"share with" OR "share to"?

I was taught that the verb "share" must be accompanied by the preposition "with" rather than the preposition "to". For example I understand that it is correct to say, "I would like to share something with you." However, in my locality it is common for people to say "I would like to share something to you." I have been unable to find anything written regarding the correct grammatical form when using this verb.

I don't know if it's a grammar rule, but the word share goes with the word with, and not the word to in every dialect of English that I'm familiar with.
