Hello,

Could anyone help me to understand the meaning of "set off another landslide" of the following sentences?

"Our own journey had been delayed two days when the road was blocked by a landslide.
The road department had used dynamite to clear it, only to set off another landslide."

Thank you,
Higurashi

The clearing of road blockage caused by the landslide by using dynamite accidentally caused another landslide.
