Is it still correct to use sentance when referring to a gaol term?
 
"Sentance" is not a word.
 
Whether it is a line of words or a gaol term, the spelling is 'sentence'.

Why did you think that the word "sentance" referred to a gaol/jail/prison term? As you now know, the word is "sentence" regardless of the meaning.
