Hi All,

I am sorry for asking many questions.
can you help me with below sentences.

3) Carl flaunts the speed limit whenever he feels like it.

Can someone help me to correct the above sentences.
Thank you all in advance.

Don't apologize for asking questions. (What would I do if I didn't have questions to answer?)

1) Betty's and Pamela's braids are long enough to sit on.

2) Some thirty odd friends and relatives gathered to celebrate Rita's birthday.

3) Carl flaunts the speed limit whenever he feels like it.

Sentence #1 is fine. (But I don't recommend actually doing it.) I wouldn't use sentence #2. It might be taken the wrong way. (Come to think of it, I do have some pretty odd friends.) In sentence #3, use flouts instead of flaunts.

:)

Are you sure this isn't homework?

You should put your guesses down before expecting help here.

It is my homework.
I tried to put in my guesses in most of the places.
But some of my sentence corrections look so wrong to me, that I just put the question.
for example: in third sentence: Carl breaks the speed limit whenever he feels like it.
now I am not sure if it is correct at all or not.

Please dont solve 2nd question. I solved it.
I used "some odd" phrase.
did some research.

I will remove that sentences I solved

Please don't remove anything. (Why would you do that?) Maybe an ESL learner will learn something. As for "Carl breaks the speed limit whenever he feels like it", look up "flouts" and see if you agree with me that it applies. (Try Dictionary.com.)

:)

I am a ESL learner myself.
so asking these questions.

Tarheel, I looked for definition of the word "flouts". I agree that it applies.
Thank you for your help.

You're welcome. (You can just click "Thank" from now on.) And don't ever ride with Carl.

:-?

Star01, please don't edit posts after responses have been posted. It makes the thread very confusing to read. You can edit a post before anyone responds.
