Does it work to say someone has a "sarcastic and cheerful facade"?

Is this okay?

Behind his sarcastic and cheerful facade, Gary is assailed by self-doubt and knows he's not as strong as his brothers.

"Sarcastic" and "cheerful" don't really go together. One's a little 'negative' and the other's a more positive word.

Perfectly fine!
