Sadiq Khan says "This isn't about a few rotten applies apples". How does he pronounce rotten /ˈrɒtn/? Does he use a glottal stop kind of /ˈrɒ?/, so that /tn/ is pronounced without release (like cat -/kʰæʔ/), so that tn is not detected ? At least, I cannot hear /tn/.
There's something very odd about that recording. It sounds to me as if there's a glitch in the recording (and the video). Not only can I not hear the whole word "rotten" but I can't even see his mouth make the "r" shape. I think the video is missing a fraction of a second.
 
I don't see or hear any kind of glitch. He does say 'rotten' very fast indeed. I think this is typical of how he talks.
