[STRIKE]Hi,[/STRIKE] My friend is telling me that "rock wins from scissors" [STRIKE]and ect[/STRIKE] etc is correct, but I keep telling him it's "rock beats scissors" etc. Which one is correct?
Please take careful note of my corrections.

Rock beats scissors. Rock doesn't win anything from scissors; it just wins.

You'll sometimes hear variations such as 'rock crushes scissors' or 'rock dulls scissors'. (Ignoring that a whetstone is a rock and it actually sharpens them).

Similarly 'paper covers rock' and 'scissors cuts paper'.
