Hello!

Is this correct?

Can we have the file resent?

Why is that when I try checking that sentence in Microsoft word, it says that the resend word is incorrect.

Same goes for this sentence:

Can you please resend the file?

Can I use this instead:

Can you please resent the file?

Thanks!

Hello!
Hi:)
Is this correct?

Can we have the file resent? YES, BUT I WOULD GUESS THAT IT IS FAIRLY NEW USAGE AND I OFTEN USE A HYPHEN (RIGHT OR WRONG!): RE-SENT. "RESENT" HAS ANOTHER MEANING.

Why is that when I try checking that sentence in Microsoft word, it says that the resend word is incorrect. "RE-SEND" OR "RE-SENT"?. SEE ABOVE. REMEMBER THAT BILL GATES DOESN'T KNOW EVERYTHING.

Same goes for this sentence:

Can you please resend the file? OK. SEE ABOVE.

Can I use this instead:

Can you please resent the file? NO. "HAVE IT RE-SENT" IS A PASSIVE CAUSATIVE STRUCTURE, SO YOU NEED THE PAST PARTICIPLE THERE. THIS IS NEITHER PASSIVE NOR CAUSATIVE.

Thanks! HOPE THAT HELPS!
