Can a message that reminds you of how to do something correctly be called a "reminding message"?
 
It is called a reminder.
Some call it a "gentle reminder" to sound polite.
 
Generally, reminders don't remind you how to do something. They remind you to do something.
 
Instructions tell you how to do something.
