What's the semantic difference between the two sentences below. I have read somewhere on the internet that both 'of' and 'about' can be used with the verb 'remind', but I can't differentiate the meaning.

He reminds me of his old history teacher.
He reminds me about his old history teacher.
 
He reminds me of his old history teacher.:tick:
He reminds me about his old history teacher:cross:.

Please remind me about my dental appointment next Tuesday.
 
1 he looks like my old teacher. 2 he says something that makes me think of my old teacher.
