Which one is correct and is there a difference in meaning?

1-My brothers are rarely eat home cooked food.
2-My brothers rarely eat home cooked food.
3-My brothers are rarely eating home cooked food.
4-My brothers rarely eating home cooked food.

1 and 4 aren't grammatical.

2 sounds fine as a statement of fact.

3 could work in a very specific context. You haven't given us any.

Only #2 is correct as a standalone sentence. As Barque said, #3 could work but it would need at least one more word after "food".

What grammar point are you trying to practise with these sentences?

Thank you for your feedback.

What is the word needed to make sentence three work?

I'm puzzled when I find some sentences that ungrammatical on Social Media. The reason why I posted the thread is no make sure what sentences are grammatical and what aren't.

At a push, I'd accept "My brothers are rarely eating home-cooked food these days. They're mostly eating out" or similar. I still wouldn't really see the need for the present continuous rather than the present simple.

Note my corrections above.

What puzzles you about it? I'm puzzled that you're puzzled.

Do all Arabic speakers always speak perfect Arabic with no mistakes? Do all Arabic speakers who post on social media make posts without any mistakes at all?

It's the same with every language.

Of course not. Mistakes are made in every language. As I mentioned, the reason I posted my thread is to find out the correct grammatical structures.

In that case, why are you puzzled that you find errors on social media?

Because I have to review and brush up on grammar again.
