[Grammar] Question tag with omission of pronoun and auxiliary

Hello all,

I was wondering if, having encountered such forms as "amusing ourselves, are we?" and "found him, have you?", I would be correct in assuming that a variant with the simple past would sound like, for example, this: "see the Queen, did you?"

"Saw the Queen, did you?" would be more likely.

"Saw the Queen, did you?" would be more likely.

The version with see also sounds OK to me.

It's still a bit confusing to me. I tried to deduce a general rule from a few well known instances, like the examples I gave.
I thought that the verb in the first part of the sentence (such as "amusing" in "amusing ourselves, are we?") had to take the form it would normally take were the auxiliary not omitted ("[are we] amusing ourselves?", "amusing" to agree with "are").

You can't always deduce rules from informal, shortened, sentences.
