Hi!
This is a new thread in which we will discuss some sentences that need suitable question tags.
The sentence is:
It was Johnson that insulted you,...............?
My opinion: "wasn't it/didn't he?".

Thanks in advance!
 
Only wasn't it is possible. You'd only use didn't he after "Johnson insulted you."

The pattern is it was x, wasn't it?
 
I couldn't agree more, GoesStation. It's a cleft sentence and your pattern is correct.
