Question regarding the word usage account/context. Are they correct?

1) The country distorted their context/account of history to whitewash their wrongdoing in the past.
2) What is being taught to them at school is inaccurate account of their history.
 
1) The country distorted its [STRIKE]context/[/STRIKE]account of history to whitewash its leaders' wrongdoing in the past.

2) What is being taught to children at school is an inaccurate account of their history.

By adding "leaders", you're changing the meaning of the sentence significantly. ^^
