[Grammar] Question about On, In Preposition.

Good evening from Turkey. This is my first post.

I'm learning the difference between prepositions on and in. Can someone check if the below are correct?

1. There is a hole in the wood (a piece of wood lying on the floor with a hole).
2. There is something in my hair that I need to remove.
3. Children are playing basketball in the court. (a basketball-court that is surrounded with fences around).
4. After the accident, I have gained scars in my face.

Sentence 4 needs on. The scars are on your face.

The others are correct. Well done.

I assume that the bracketed part in 3 was way to call for in, not on.

For #4, I would use one of the following:

After my accident, I had scars on my face.
Since my accident, I have had scars on my face.
Due to my accident, I have scars on my face.

I wouldn't use the combination of "After" and "have".
