Hi,

I want to describe a movement/ an action about walking through a bush or tall grass but I stumped. I wanted to write along the lines of "He walked carefully through the bushes as his hands pushing the tall grass wide open to make his way to the well". I am not sure whether 'his hands pushing the tall grass wide open' sounds okay.

Thanks in advance

I want to describe the movement[STRIKE]/an[/STRIKE] action [STRIKE]about[/STRIKE] of walking through a bush or tall grass, but I'm struggling. [STRIKE]stumped.[/STRIKE]
"I stumped" is unnatural. Don't use it.

I want [STRIKE]ed[/STRIKE] to write along the lines of "He walked carefully through the bushes, [STRIKE]as[/STRIKE] his hands pushing aside the tall (blades of) grass [STRIKE]wide open[/STRIKE] to make his way to the well".
Try that.

I am not sure whether 'his hands pushing the tall grass wide open' sounds okay.
No, because you can't open grass.

Thanks in advance.

You can use "I'm stumped", to mean "I'm stuck" or, in the case of a quiz question or a puzzle, "I can't work out the answer at all!"

... his hands pushed aside the bushes and parted the tall grass ...
