pump you up meaning

hello everyone it`s the first topic for me here ..... i am glad to join this forum and i hope it would help me improving my english language

i just wanted to know what does it mean (your boss wants me to pump you up ) .....it was said in a movie .....and from the context i guess that it was meant that (your boss wants me to motivate you )

Yes, getting "pumped up" means excited and motivated to face a challenge.

When I'm sleepy at work, I like to listen to Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up" and it gets me pumped up.
