How do I fix this sentence:
The purpose of the microscope was invented to allow people to see tiny things.

The subject is "The purpose of the microscope."

The verb is "was invented."

Do you think "purposes" are "invented"?

Either choose a different phrase for your subject and keep "was invented" OR keep "The purpose of the microscope" and choose a different verb phrase.

Remove "The purpose of".
