Are these sentences correct?

1) I praised you to the manager.
2) I sang your praises to the manager.

Meaning: I said things in praise of you to the manager.

'You' and 'the manager' could be replaced by other pronouns or nouns in those sentences. My question would still be the same. I just wanted to see if 'praise' and 'sing someone's praises' could work in that construct.

No, I would say: I praised you/sang praises of you in front of the manager.
