Hello all,

Would you please describe the following paragraph? I haven't understood what the writer says.

"I have never benefited anyone in any manner whatsoever without having received in return, from one source or another, ten times as much benefit as I have contributed to others".

I have never helped anyone without getting ten times as much benefit in return.

I"m not sure if this person is being humble and saying "good deeds come back in wonderful ways" or bragging about how selfish he is by not helping anyone unless he already knows it will help him more.

Though I'm pretty sure it's more likely to be the former. Perhaps Ever Student can tell us which reading fits the context?

Hi Ray,

The context is on Napoleon Hill and his book. Yes the former fits to the context. Thanks.
