Rover_KE,
This is not my homework.I even know all the answers. But the problem is that the some answers given in the source are not matching my answers so I wanted to confirm whether I am right or not.

Please reply the thread,I need some facts regarding true meaning of the words no dictionary can impart me an exact sense of the word.So only you people can and should help me.

Waiting eagerly for replies. :lol::lol:

Why don't you tell us which of the answers you believe are wrong. That's how we usually discuss things here.

By the way, we don't use "know" that way. If you know all the answers, you don't need to have them checked. It's far more likely that you are not certain about some of them.

Tell us what you think the right answers are and why. Then tell us what the book says the right answer are. Once we have that information, we can look at them, see where we all disagree and explain why.

Weary means sort of worn out/tired so synonym should be weak but answer given is troubled.
Unceremonious should mean the informal but answer given is impolite.
Abstemious should be temperate but answer is careful.
Evoked should be summoned but the answer is call forth.
Shrink should be contract but the answer is shrivel.

antonyms:-
Asceticism is a practice which according to me is inclined more towards giving up the physical comfort than luxury but the answer is luxury.

Dim being lightly lit ,dazzling being the very bright should be the answer but the answer is luminous.
Escalate having a hint of increased level ,answer should be descent but the answer is decrease.
Cessation being the halt ,on going should be the answer but the answer is commencement.I think commencement is the antonym for complete stop rather than cessation.
Chivalry is a science in which a person is more courteous than gallant ,discourteous should be the answer but the answer is cowardice.
Segregate and aggregate are direct synonyms ,still unite is given as answer.

I know that both answers are near synonyms but my problem is how to tell which is nearest.

Help me regarding the same.

Sahil

Weary means sort of worn out/tired so synonym should be weak but answer given is troubled. I'd say it should be b) weak.
Unceremonious should mean the informal but answer given is impolite. I agree
Abstemious should be temperate but answer is careful. This one's closer, but I'd say temperate.
Evoked should be summoned but the answer is call forth. This could go either way. If you're summoned, you are called forth.
Shrink should be contract but the answer is shrivel. Again I agree.
I won't bother checking the rest. The test is rubbish. Where did you find it?
