paw or hand for monkeys?

Do you say monkeys'(chimpanzees') paw or hand? It's tricky as they are primates similar to humans.
 
Hand is the correct name. It seems that chimps have hands with opposable thumbs, much as humans do. Animals with paws lack this feature.
 
Hand, finger, nails, thumb.

Human beings are monkeys, you know.
 
Chimpanzees are apes, not monkeys.
 
I was talking about human beings. :)

More seriously, are apes monkeys? Certainly not in strict scientific taxonomy, but in common usage beyond any doubt. Q.v. King Kong.
 
I hope we don't have to rename the classic WW Jacobs horror story The Monkey's Paw anytime soon.
