Patience was one of her strong suits. She bid her time, waiting for the right moment. Bur revenge, when it came, tasted like it was wrapped in plastic. Like a piece of bread that had gone stale.

I don't know whether Brits would say bid. In American English, it's bided.

Otherwise, all's well.
 
It sounds to me like you're saying the bread had gone stale because it was wrapped in plastic. I assume you don't meant that.
