Hello everyone,
From the book Choose Your Story, Change Your Life by Kindra Hall.
Jonathan and Zara are husband and wife. Some time ago Jonathan had cancer.
“I’ll never forget the conversation with Jonathan’s doctor,” Zara said. Right from the beginning, the doctors communicated almost exclusively with Zara. Jonathan only wanted to focus on the treatment at hand, one step at a time. His job would be to fight for his life; Zara’s job was to give him the motivation and information to swing the odds of that fight in his favor. The doctor, one of the best in the country, looked at Zara and said with complete confidence and zero fanfare, “I know what he’s got; I know I can cure it.” The doctor warned Zara it was going to be aggressive.
Does "one step at a time" refer to "treatment", implying that "treatment" will take place gradually?
Or does it refer to "focus", i.e. Jonathan's attitude to the treatment, implying that he needs gradually accept the fact that he needs aggressive treatment?
