Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

"Once the criminals arrived at the theater, the one with a padlocked beard struggled with the back door to break into the theater while the second, with long hair, sprayed gasoline on the left side of the building and the third, the highest of all, was standing watching, to gave the warning in case they were surprised."

Thanks.

I expect you mean 'dreadlocked beard'.

Dear Rover_KE

First of all, thanks for your help.

I think it's called a Van Dyke, but most commonly just "goatee and moustache".

Thanks.

Right ... I get it. It does look like a padlock. It can be called a padlock beard. I'd never heard of it before.

Could it be an AmE term? I am the third BrE speaker in this thread who hasn't heard the term. I would use goatee (without saying moustache).

Two things.

I had also never heard of a padlocked beard.

A building has a north side, a south side, an east side, and a west side. But a left side?
