What's the difference between Olympic and Olympics? I'm confused.

"Olympic" is an adjective (with a capital letter since derived from a proper name) whereas "Olympics" is a noun used alternatively when refering to the modern Olympic Games. According to my dictionary, Olympics never refers to the ancient Olympic Games.
