You're always off in your own little dream world.
A Monster Calls movie

What does "off" here mean?

a- You're always off in your own little dream world.
b- You're always in your own little dream world.

You're always off in your own little dream world.
To be off or go off somewhere means to go away to some place (literally or metaphorically). Here, it's metaphorical.
You're right but my problem here is with the preposition "in". I think "off to" is quite common. For example:

- Where are you off to? I'm off to the pub.

- I'm off to work now.

But here we have "off in". This doesn't make much sense to me. Could you please shed some light on it?

"Off to" implies that the person is moving towards a state or position. "Off in", on the other hand, implies that they are already in that state or position.

I think you're parsing it wrong. "You're always off ... in your own little dream world". "You're always off" means "You're always away" and "in your own little dream world" answers the question "Where are you when you're off/away?"
