Hello,

Doing a word transformation exercise, I tripped over the following sentence:

3. You have had ........ warnings about your attitude and still you insist on misbehaving. (NUMBER)

The key insists on 'innumerable', but I don't understand why 'numerous' doesn't fit.
Dictionaries say the latter is a synonym for 'many'. Could anybody explain the difference, please?

Thank you.

"Numerous" sounds good to me. It means a whole lot.

"Innumerable" would be too many to count, which could also be the case.

Either word fits in that sentence.
