I thought about calling him, but deep down I knew that nothing good would come out of it/come of it.

- Are either of 'come out of it' and 'come of it' correct and natural here?

- Are they completely interchangeable in this context?
 
BrE would use "come of it". Adding "out" isn't wrong but it's not the set phrase.
