Do my sentences sound natural?

Nora stood on the platform, her suitcase at her feet, waiting for a London-bound train. She had butterflies in her stomach, despite telling herself that everything was going to be OK. She had never been to London before, had neither relatives nor friends there, but knew she had to make this journey. She was tired of her home town, the miserable weather, the stifling atmosphere, and the people around here and their lack of ambitions. She was nineteen and didn't want to spend her life in this place where the majority seemed to be satisfied with little. The world was huge, and she wanted to see it and discover it for herself. If Danny had not broken with her, she would have probably stayed, but now being a single, nothing was keeping her here.

I would say lack of ambition.

Also, I would say "had not broken it off with her".
