net vs nett

G'day - as an accountant I'm curious as to whether we should be referring to "net assets" or "nett assets". Most people I know use "net" but I was originally taught to use "nett" - is this incorrect or are either okay? Cheers, Vix

nett - definition of nett by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

According to this, it is a variant spelling. I've never seen it, but then again, I'm not an accountant.
