Hey guys, just found this community, and I'm glad to be here, :)

Need an advice.

English is not my first language, and I'm far from be good at it.
Readig, listening English everyday. And understand almost everytnig, let say 95%. But when it comes to writing, I'm struggling with it!

I'm very interested into copywriting(or maybe for the beginning just writing!?), and also understand to do that, I need to improve "somehow" my writing skills.

Always trying, but can not reach the "native level" - no chance!!!

Do you have a suggestion, what should I do in this situation, don't know what to do!?

Thanks
O

Say:

I need SOME advice.

Perhaps:

English is not my first language, and I'm not very good at it.

Actually, you have come a long way, although there is, of course, room for improvement.

The hardest part is behind you. It should be easier to learn more at this point, because you have something to build on.

Tnx for your input.
But, based on my writing need some advice, how to go further to improve my writing skills?

So my aim is to reach somehow a native level of writing...

Say:

I read English and listen to English almost every day, and I understand almost everything.

Q: How can I improve my writing skills?
A: Keep doing what you've been doing. You can expect to continue to improve. As for doing it like a native speaker, you are already better than some of them.

Be patient! Rome wasn't built in a day.

Tnx for your input.

Hello, old79.

I think it is a good idea to avoid the use of textspeak such as "thx", if you are aiming to improve your writing skills.
What do you think?:)

Hello old79

It's not clear to me what advice you are asking for.

First, there's no such thing as a "native level of writing". Many native speakers cannot write at all! Your goal would be better expressed as being a native level of spoken English, but this I think is quite unrealistic for an adult.

I think it makes more sense for you to focus on improving your grammar and vocabulary before anything else. This will help with your writing more than anything, I believe, as well as your speaking.

Another thing I would suggest is to continue reading a range of authentic texts that have been written by natives with a high level of competence in English. Observe carefully how they write and try to learn from them.
