"My vacation leave is not due in May"

Hi, all:

I'm a Chinese and I was trying to write a letter to my British friend.

I wanted to say "My vacation leave is not due in May"

But I googled a bit and found no such results. Is this an awkward sentence in English?

It sounds very natural in my mother tongue.

As an NES but not a teacher, it sounds reasonably OK to me, except it leaves you wondering when it actually is.

I assume that your British friend is suggesting you meet in May.

What you could say is that your next vacation is not due until June/July/ etc and ask if, whatever month/date(s) you suggest would work for him/her.

Do you mean 'My vacation leave is not due until May'? or "I have no vacation leave due in May"?

How about "I can't take any vacation leave in May"? Is that what you mean?
