NEITHER A TEACHER NOR A NATIVE SPEAKER

We use listen TO sth.

BTW: What is a hobbit? :?:

The only "hobbit" I know is the species from the JRR Tolkien books (The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings). If that's what you're referring to, then (even if they were real), you wouldn't say "my hobbit". They're not pets!!

Anyway, as tom3m said, use "to" after "listen" and before a noun. Before an adverb it's not necessary.

I am listening to music.
He listens to classical music every night.
My dog likes to listen to country music.
Listen carefully.
You must listen very carefully to make sure you don't miss anything.

I have to think that "hobby" was intended, but I am enjoying the picture of one hobbit listening to music while the other strolls casually into Mordor.

That is what I though as well, but I just couldn't believe it. I feel like an idiot realizing that I was looking it up on Google wondering if it cannot be a slang expression that I didn't know. :-D

I can't believe that I didn't even think of the word "hobby" being what was intended. I just went straight for little hairy-footed people from The Shire! :-D

Funny picture indeed! However, given the setting of the novels in medieval-like times, the hobbit at home would be more likely to be playing music than listening to it (unless played by someone else, of course: the he would be listening to it. But I digress...;-))
