“My greetings (go) to the families of the injured and the missing”. Does such expression exist in English or is it a mere translation?

Does such an expression exist in English or is it [STRIKE]a mere[/STRIKE] just a direct translation?

"Greetings" does not fit that context at all. We send condolences or thoughts (or prayers, if you're that way inclined) to such families.

or "My sympathies".
