Are all the following sentences correct?

1- My friend died from poisoning.

2- My friend died from poison.

3- My friend died from taking poison.

The grammar is okay.

I wouldn't use any of your sentences.

You'd normally say what the poison was. My friend died of lead poisoning.

Are you referring to accidental poisoning, suicide, or murder? That could also make a difference to what you say.

I mean murder.

Your sentences sound more like it was accidental or suicide.

My friend was murdered. Someone poisoned him.
Someone murdered my friend. He was poisoned.
