My brother isn't paid well in his current job. I wish he......a better paid job.
a-would have
b-had
c a and b
d-had had
My answer is b provided that the sentence is correct.

b is correct.

Or "e- had a better paying job".

Give it time. As he gains experience he will get better at his job and will become more valuable to his employer.

Or "e- had a better paying job".

Or
F a job that paid better.
But the point of multi-choice questions is that you have to pick the correct (or best) option of the ones given.

In a test, you get no marks for proposing a better answer.

Maybe it should become an option.

That explains why I didn't do so well with those.
