Can I use "blow away" for when something is so much better than another thing?

Are these okay?

1. My BMW blows away your Audi. It's so much faster and more powerful.

2. My laptop blows this PC away. I make animations on it without any hiccups while the PC always stutters when I'm doing 3D work.

Yes, but I think it works better for the first one. (Others may disagree.)

Why? What's the difference?
It's a rather common expression when you're talking about cars. For computers not so much. (Some might be very happy with that expression in any case.)
