Hi,:)
So this conversation happened between 2 people in another forum:

A:How many more events would change your opinion on this?
B:Considering that my best friends and family are muslims, I don't see how it ever could.

Does person B mean that his family are muslims ?

PS: 1.I guess muslims is wrong because I see a red line under that!
2. I have no intention to discuss this topic here. I just want to know what I ask.

His best friends and his family are all Muslims. The red line in your browser is because you did not capitalize "Muslims."

It might have been clearer had he written "My family and best friends are Muslims". As it was written, it appears he has "best friends" and a "best family".

Or "My best friends and my family ..."
The original could possibly also mean "My best friends and their families ...."

As a native speaker of English, I am not confused by the meaning of "my best friends and family are Muslims." I interpret it as meaning "my best friends and my family are Muslims."

I wasn't confused by it either. I was 99.9% certain I knew what the original meant but I always try to point out potential ambiguities.
