...is that correct? Isn't it better witter than...?

As in lucky--> luckier , it should be as witty --> wittier

***NOT A TEACHER***I believe that both "more witty" and "wittier" are both "correct." It is up to the writer. In some sentences, "more witty" might sound better; in other sentences, it might be "wittier." In
English, a writer often has a choice between the -er form and the "more" form. Thank you.
