Hello,

I'd like to ask if the word "medicament" can be used instead the word "medication"?
Polish learners of English love to use it, because it is similar to their native word. An English friend of mine says it is not used any more and that he hears it only from Polish speakers.

Well, how about this? : ( from www.periotray.com)

"efficacy of medicament placement into periodontal pockets via the Perio Tray®. "

"Medicament" is a rare word in present-day English. It exists so it isn't strange that someone has used it on that site but it doesn't change the fact that it's rare. I don't think it's much rarer than its Polish counterpart though. Have you ever heard or seen "medykament" in Polish medical writing?
