They're not natural. We don't "comfort-eat something" unless it's the thing we're eating. Otherwise, it's intransitive. We "comfort-eat because of something". They should have been something like:This is what the examples quoted are supposed to signify. You cannot say 'comfort-eat your stress' though, or 'he was comfort-eating his failure with chocolate.'
