Making Subtitles - Waste of time ?

Hey! Firstly, I wish happy eid al-adha to my all Muslim brothers.

And my question to all members; Do you think making subtitles by listening to a speech is helpful or just waste of time? (from English speech into Turkish (my native) subtitle)

Well, books often have subtitles. What does your subtitle relate to? A speech?

Are you talking about making/writing subtitles yourself or using Turkish subtitles while you're watching/listening to something in English?

If it will benefit the Turkish people watching the speech, then I would say it's not a waste of time.

If you're doing the translating, I'd say there would surely be some value in it - if nothing else, it's extra practice, and as they say, practice makes perfect.
