'make it up' as a phrasal verb and imperative ?

Hi everyone ! I'm really happy to know this forum. :-D

Is it correct to say 'Make it up', just as you would say 'Cheer up '? 'Make it up' as an imperative ?

The whole sentence is 'Make it up over the clouds', like someone saying 'try to reach the place that is over the clouds'. Does it mean something ?...

I just want to say it's in a song, so it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect, it can be just like in a poem where you can say things you wouldn't normally say.

It's true that in song lyrics or poetry you can more or less get away with anything, so why not?

However, 'to make something up' is a phrasal verb that means 'to invent a story'.

'To make it' means to succeed, so to express, 'reach the place that is over the clouds' you could simply say, 'Make it over the clouds'

If you do want to use 'up over' just bear in mind that it's not 'make it up' but rather 'make it' | 'up over'.
