Make a difference“for” or “to”

Sometimes even small gestures, like providing food or water, can make a big difference to these lovely furry friends.

Is this sentence 100% right? Or maybe I should have used ‘difference for’.

I assume "IG" means Instagram. If this is a caption to a photo of someone feeding or giving water to a small furry animal, it works for me.
