Hello!

I am a linguistics student and for a project I made a little funny video about what would happen if we took idioms literally and I'd love for you all to watch it! Also, let me know if you have any other idioms that might be funny to do in another video!

Hope you enjoy! Don't forget to share it with your friends if you liked it!

As this is a site for ESL students, I wonder whether some would get the explanations, like beat about the bush; it'll work for native speakers, but less so for non-natives and given that they represent a huge chunk of the searches for the meanings of idioms, fuller explanations might widen your audience.

Thanks for the feedback! Good idea.

Hello, how would you please explain the idiom black hat usability or maybe it is rather an expression?

Kind regards

Is 'black hat usability' the term that is used by website creators to dupe unsuspecting viewers into signing-up for unwanted products or services? These website creators do not have the best interest of the viewer and, in fact, they are designing sites that intentionally bring ill-will and harm to the users.

Yes, I make the qualified guess that you´re on the point there, thanks Amigos4

You can have white hat (good people who don't try to fool you), black hat (the ones that try to fool or trick you), and grey hat (ones that are in the middle- bending rules, but not actually duping you).
