I am doing an MA in BSL/English and need to do an analysis on my spoken English.

I am struggling to find a list of features to mark my studies against.

I currently have
Dialect
Accent
pronounciation
register
scripts and schemas
discourse markers
non fluency markers

Is this acceptable or am I way off track??

I really appreciate your help so thanks in advance

Sharon

Well, You seem to be on the right tack;you may add "Facial expressions and body language"to the list. Also, it is evident that spoken English has its own grammar, ellipsis being a main feature: Want a drink? rather than Do you want a drink? I suggest you have a look into the pragmatic aspects of spoken English as well. Good luck with your work!
