Linguistic features of phraseologisms with a colour component

I have to write a year paper. The theme is: Linguistic features of phraseologisms with a colour component.
I am in real need of help, as I am not sure about what it should be?I have found lots of information about the stylistic features of phraseologisms but nothing about linguistic features.Please, give me a hint or explanation as to this theme.Thanks a lot beforehand.
